Meharry Medical College Donation Immersion Summer Program

Throughout the summer, these first- and second-year Meharry Medical College students engaged in didactic classes, laboratory experiences, staff meetings, community events, and clinical shadowing opportunities.

Throughout the summer, these first- and second-year Meharry Medical College students gained unique firsthand experience in the field of donation and transplantation by exploring the science, compassion, and collaboration that make lifesaving donation possible. Most importantly, they witnessed how our team honors the gift of life each day through organ, eye, and tissue donation while supporting donor families with compassion and care.

It was a privilege to host these outstanding students during the eye bank portion of their summer program, where they gained insight into the life-changing impact of eye donation and transplantation.

During their final presentations, they shared powerful reflections, lessons learned and a newfound passion for advocating for organ, eye and tissue donation.
