Sacramento, CA — DCI Donor Services, Inc. (DCIDS) has promoted Sam Ramos of Roseville to director of ocular services, based in its Sacramento office, Sierra Donor Services (SDS). Ramos, a certified eye banking technician, joined SDS in 2000 as a tissue recovery assistant, and in his twelve years of service has served as: tissue recovery technician, ocular recovery technician, tissue services coordinator, senior tissue services coordinator, interim manager of New Mexico Donor Services, and most recently manager of tissue services for SDS.
Ramos will be responsible for ocular distribution, as well as the national sales and marketing of ocular tissues recovered by DCIDS in its California, Nevada and Tennessee locations.
“Mr. Ramos brings extensive knowledge of ocular tissue recovery and processing,” says executive director of SDS, Monica Johnson. “In his new position, Mr. Ramos will be responsible for leading the ocular program in providing exemplary customer service and competitive pricing for the nation on behalf of Sierra Donor Services and Tennessee Donor Services.”
Ramos earned his Bachelor of Sciences degree in neurobiology, physiology and human behavior from the University of California, Davis. He has served in leadership roles with the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), most recently on its Recovery Council which was given the charge of standardizing tissue recovery for the nation.
